What are the most popular floral varieties in America?

Americans buy an average of 9.5 billion flowers every year, according to the American Floral Endowment, and that number is growing. The most popular flowers in the United States are Roses, Orchids, Tulips, Daisies, Carnations, Peonies, Ranunculus and Tulips. We all know that flowers make a great gift, but did you know that they're also the most frequently purchased fresh flowers in America? Each year, Americans spend nearly $2 billion on fresh cut flowers, and that number is only growing. Flowers are a great way to show someone how much you care about them on any occasion. Whether it's their birthday, an anniversary, or just because you want to brighten their day, flowers are the perfect way to do it.

What types of roses do we offer?

Garden Roses: Garden roses are, as the name suggests, the kind of roses you'd put in your garden. They're typically shrubs that are hardy and can handle being exposed to the elements; they'll grow well in a variety of climates and soil types. Garden roses come in a variety of colors and sizes—some are small shrubs and others are larger bushes.

Spray Roses: Spray roses are also known as "cascade" or "double" roses. They're named after their unique shape—they look like they're cascading down from their trellis or support system. Spray roses tend to be smaller than garden roses, but they have a similar growing habit: they're hardy, they need little maintenance (just water), and they grow well in most climates and soil types.

Long Stem Roses: We sell more Ecuadorian long stem roses than any other rose varieite. Long stem roses are exactly what they sound like—they have long stems that make them ideal for arranging or decorating with other flowers or plants. Ecuadorian long stem roses have longer stems and larger blooms than most California grown roses. Making them perfect for adding elegance anywhere from bouquets to centerpieces! These types of roses tend to be a tad more expensive than others, but they make great gifts for people who love gardening or just want something beautiful on display in their home.

How many varieties of tulips are there?

There are over 200 varieties of tulips. While they can be found in almost any color or shade imaginable, they're are a seasonal flower. In the Spring, we use them in a number of different floral bouquets. Our designers often use them to add an accent to an arrangement or bouquet, but they can also be used as centerpieces or table decorations. When selecting which type of tulips to use for your floral arrangements, keep in mind that some varieties are better suited for certain uses than others. For example:

Tulips differ from other flowers because they have two petals instead of one—a "tulip" is actually made up of two petals fused together at the base (so technically it's not a single flower). Also unlike other flowers, each tulip has some sort of "eye" at its center (where its pistil would be). This eye is what gives it its signature look—it's also what makes a tulip so beautiful when it opens up in the morning.

What are carnations and how do we use them in our designs? 

Carnations are a popular flower choice for many florists and floral designers. The carnation is a flower that comes in a wide variety of colors and sizes, and it can be used in a number of different ways to create beautiful arrangements. Carnations are often used to decorate the inside of bouquets. They are also frequently added to bouquets as accents or filler flowers. If you're looking for something simple and classic, then carnations may be the perfect choice to have us add to your next bouquet.
