Huisman Flowers is a division of Eastern Floral Lakeshore. We have been serving customers in the Grand Haven and Holland area for more than 60 years. We purchase many of the flowers we sell direct from flower farms. The gerbera daisies we buy are simply gorgeous. We use daisies in many different floral designs. They are a very versatile flower that provides reasonably good vase life.
Daisies are a classic flower that has been used in floral design for centuries. In fact, daisies have been used as an emblem of innocence and purity since the 18th century, when they were first introduced to England by King George III and Queen Charlotte. Today, daisies are one of the most commonly used flowers in floral design because they're so versatile and easy to work with. They can be paired with almost any other flower or greenery you could think of—and they look great all on their own!
There are basically two types of daisies
Gerbera Daisies: The gerbera daisy is a popular choice because it has a colorful, vibrant appearance that makes it stand out among other flowers. It's also known for its long-lasting nature—many gerbera daisies can last up to 10 days without water or refrigeration. Gerberas have a much larger bloom than regular daisies, and their petals are also much more rounded in shape.
Regular Daisies: Regular daisies tend to be categorized as either English daisies or French daisies. English daisies have a single row of petals that forms the center of their flower head, while French daisies have multiple rows of petals that form their center.
Daisies are a type of flower that can be used in all kinds of floral arrangements. They're known for their bright, cheerful appearance and how easy they are to arrange. Daisies are a great choice if you're looking for something light and airy—they provide a lot of volume without taking up too much room in your arrangement. Daisies also work well in combination with other flowers, like roses or peonies, because they have such a different shape than the petals on other flowers.
One common use for daisies is to fill out an arrangement. Our designers frequently add daisies as accent flowers. They work well with other accents, such as baby's breath or violas. Adding fillers and accents to a floral design helps to fill out the bouquet, making it even more beautiful. Daisies are great in bouquets that have a vintage feel to them: they have classic lines and look best when paired with other simple elements like greenery or ribbon.
The floral industry estimates that more than 1.2 billion daisies are sold in the United States each year. That is a lot of daisies. Based on those numbers, it is easy to see why daisies made the list as one of America's favorite flowers. Daisies are popular for good reason—they're a simple, but elegant bloom. Perfect for many different types of occasions. Used in occasion themed bouquets for anniversaries, baby showers, birthdays, funerals, get well, graduations, to Mother's Day, Valentine's Day and even for weddings. Daisies have been around for centuries and have been used as symbols of love and friendship for as long as that long. They've even been immortalized in song by both Bob Dylan and Lady Gaga!
